JKosmmune Skincare

Recently I've been trying JKosmmune, a basic skincare collection that features potent, high-quality beta glucan. Free of parabens, mineral oil, silicone, talc, sulfates and ethanol, the entire line is good for all skin types, especially sensitive skin.

Using 99.9% pure beta glucan that's derived from mushrooms, the products aim to address dry skin, fine lines, pigmentation, and collagen stimulation. If you're looking for a simple skincare regimen JKosmmune is a great place to start. My face feels so clean, smooth, and soft after only using their products for a week.

The Enzyme Cleansing Powder ($26) is super gentle on my skin. Just add a few drops of warm water and it's ready to lather up. My pores look super clean yet my face doesn't feel dry at all.

The ultra-moisturizing Serum ($46) contains 97% pure beta glucan to hydrate, brighten and firm the skin. It's concentrated so you only need a few drops to cover the entire face. This is a great everyday serum to try if you haven't used a serum before. In fact, beta glucan as an ingredient might rival hyaluronic acid in terms of its hydrating quality.

If you need more moisture you can layer on the Lotion ($32-$47) on top of the serum. It has a light citrus scent and it absorbs quickly, which is perfect when you're in a rush.

Available at www.jkosmmune.com.

Eminence Mangosteen Lactic Collection

Eminence is back with their new Mangosteen Lactic Collection. Apparently mangosteen is used to treat various skin conditions, including eczema. It also has anti-inflammatory properties that protect the skin from environmental stress.

Designed for all skin types, the Mangosteen Daily Resurfacing Cleanser ($38) contains a Lactic Acid Complex to gently exfoliate the skin. My face got softer and way less flaky after using it for several days. My pores also feel progressively refined. And, like most of their products, this collection smells like fruity gummy candy. I almost want to lick the gel cleanser off my hands!

After cleansing you can layer on the Mangosteen Daily Resurfacing Concentrate ($58). It absorbs easily so I can use a face oil or mosturizer right after. Like the cleanser, this leave-on concentrate also has the Lactic Acid Complex as well as ribose and red clover flower to remove dead cells and refine the skin surface.

If you live near a spa that offers Eminence facials, check out their professional grade Mangosteen Lactic Pro Peel 10%. There's no downtime and it's quite gentle for most skin types.

Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Lip Balm & Eye Mask

Although spring is just around the corner, the rainy weather this week reminded me that I needed to stay vigilant about protecting the delicate lip and eye area. Clarins came to the rescue with their new Hydra-Essentiel Moisturizing Reviving Eye Mask ($38) and the Hydra-Essentiel Moisture Replenishing Lip Balm ($24).

The soothing eye mask is packed with Irish moss, horse chestnut, quinoa and organic leaf of life to hydrate and revive the under eye area. The cream-gel texture absorbs easily; you can use it as a quick 10-minute mask or leave it on overnight for a more intense treatment.

I really like the Hydra-Essentiel Lip Balm. Made with blue lotus wax and cocoa extract, it has the perfect texture that nourishes without being too thick. I also love the light fruity scent—it goes without saying that Clarins makes the best lip products.

Osmotics Colour Verite Lip Color

Fans of Osmotics skincare will love their new treatment-driven lip gloss. The Colour Verite Healthy Lips Line Smoothing Lip Color contains peptides and hyaluronic acid to firm and plump the lips. It also features SWT-7 technology to smooth out vertical lip lines and prevent color feathering.

Available in one shade, Bare Only Better, the flattering rose pink lip gloss has a light minty scent and a comfortable, non-sticky texture. You can use it alone or over lipstick, but I prefer it by itself since the color is already so pretty and rich.

Available for $35 at www.osmotics.com.

Edible Beauty

Created by a naturopath and nutritionist, Australian skincare brand Edible Beauty stands out in the green beauty world. Made with wildcrafted, organic, and therapeutic botanicals, founder Anna Mitsios says her products are safe enough to eat. Plus, the packaging is so pretty and elegant.

The Snowflower Illuminating Face Oil ($54) absorbs instantly into the skin. If you haven't tried a face oil, yet, this is a good one to check out. The 100% organic formula is packed with snowflower seed, kakadu plum, emu apple seed, and banksia serrata oils to rejuvenate, soothe, and brighten the skin.

The Sleeping Beauty Purifying Mousse ($43) is an instant favorite. The light-as-air night cream contains Australian pink clay and zeolite to prevent breakouts while avocado, snowflower and acai oils nourish the dermis. The aloe-based mousse softens skin instantly, making this a pleasure to use. My face feels so baby soft after each application!

Clarins SOS Primers

Clarins is always a step ahead of the beauty game. This time they're back with the versatile SOS Primer line ($39), a collection of six primers to color correct common skin concerns. Lack of radiance, sallowness, dark spots, signs of fatigue, redness and imperfections can be banished within seconds.

Each shade features organic sea lily, white tea, lapsana and furcellaria extracts to hydrate and protect the complexion. You can either use it alone before applying foundation or mix with foundation. I liked using 00 Universal Light and 01 Rose to give a subtle radiance while 02 Peach and 03 Coral are great for concealing imperfections and dark spots. If you have redness issues 04 Green is the answer while 05 Lavender address sallow skin. You can even use multiple SOS Primers to correct various issues at any given time.

Available at www.clarinsusa.com and all Clarins counters.

Fueguia 1833 Luna Roja

Lately I've been reaching for the Fueguia 1833 Luna Roja to escape the dreariness of winter. The unisex woody fragrance contains fruity notes of plum and rose to balance the oakwood. The plum is what makes this perfume sing. It's the best pick-me-up on a wet, cold day.

If you haven't tried Fueguia 1833's artisan perfumes before, definitely check out their NYC boutique if you're in the area. The niche perfume company only uses biodegradable ingredients and plant-derived musk for its compositions, making it a sustainable yet luxurious option for discerning fragrance lovers.

Available in 15ml-100ml ($151-$376) at fueguia.com.

Clarins 2018 Spring Makeup

As usual, Clarins has a few pretty colors for their spring makeup collection. The 4-Colour Eyeshadow Palette ($44) in 07 Lovely Rose is a darling combo of pinks and purple that add a layer of flirtiness to the eyes. You can wear the mineral eyeshadow in a dry or wet application and it's suitable for sensitive eyes. This palette is perfect for channeling your inner French girl.

I'm a huge fan of their Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector ($26) and this season there are two new shades: 07 Hot Pink and 08 Plum. Hot pink adds a splash of bright fun while the plum gives a wash of elegance.

07 Hot Pink

For those who haven't tried this, the gloss formula gives a gorgeous tint yet offers a comfortable, moisturizing lip balm texture. It contains wild mango, shea extract, rice bran oil and vitamin E to nourish and protect the lips. Plus, the candy scent is irresistible.

08 Plum

Kiehl's Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate

Need more vitamin C in your face serum? Kiehl's just updated their wildly popular Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate. Fans and newbies alike will really like the new formula. The beauty brand increased the amount of vitamin C to 12.5% (10% L-ascorbic acid and 2.5% ascorbyl glucoside) as well as adding fragmented hyaluronic acid to make it more effective.

It absorbs beautifully into the skin, making it easy to layer under moisturizer. It does have a bit of warming sensation upon initial application but I soon got used to it. With daily use, you can expect to see more dramatic results (reduced lines) in 2-4 weeks. My face looked so radiant after the first week and I can already see fine lines gradually smoothing out after two weeks.

Available in 50ml, 75ml, and 100ml bottles ($62-$104) at www.kiehls.com.
