Apple & Bee Cosmetic Bags
July 28, 2011 Australian company Apple & Bee is churning out some really adorable designs for their cosmetic bag collection. The carbon neutral label uses eco-friendly fabrics like certified organic cotton, bamboo silk, burlap and hemp for all their products.
Some of their new styles for 2011-2012 contain TPU, a coating that's biodegradable in 4 years. Made from sugar cane and corn starch polymers, it will also keep the bags clean and easy to wipe down. The dyes used are also non-toxic.
I love the Love Bird Yellow Compact Cosmetic Bag (first image above). It's about 5" x 10.5" so it's generous enough to carry all the beauty essentials for a weekend jaunt to wine country. The fabric is way sturdy so it won't break down easily. Not too shabby for $34.95. It can also double as a clutch if you're too lazy to lug a purse.
