Aria Skin & Body Studio

A couple of weeks ago I got to try a custom clinical facial from Aria Skin and Body Studio. Conveniently located on Market Street (at Third Street), the cozy studio is also located near Union Square.

Owner Thy Pham Desogos uses only Rhonda Allison products and you'll see great results. I had a lot of sun damage from my recent European trip and needed help combating hyperpigmentation. After a careful analysis, Thy went right to work on my abused skin.

Thy started with a skin brightening cleanser, then applied a layer of skin brightening enzymes to exfoliate and lighten the pigmentation. To replenish moisture a face massage a grape seed hydrating serum was used, followed by thorough extractions (didn't hurt!).

Thy then applied a mild Mandelic Argenine peel. Great for sensitive skin, this is great for clients with pigmentation and acne issues. L-Arginine, an amino acid, promotes collagen synthesis and skin elasticity while Mandelic Acid (found in almonds) is strong enough for mild exfoliation. There is very little downtime and I didn't even see any dry patches afterward. A gentle milk mask, coupled with an ice globe facial massage, really helped soothe my face. A melanin suppressant and a couple of healing serums are added to finish the treatment.

My face looked noticeably brighter right after the treatment, but it looked even better after several days have passed. I can really see the difference, and I know I can count on Thy to make me look fabulous. I've also heard that she gives a nearly painless Brazilian bikini wax so that is a relief. I haven't tried this service yet but if I had to judge from her skin care talent I'm sure she's plain amazing.

It is glowing for the moment, until I abuse my sleeping patterns, then the breakouts will start over...LOL.
