Garden Creamery's New Sorbets

Based in Marin, Garden Creamery has launched two new sorbet flavors for the summer - Thai Iced Tea and French Press Coffee. I can't think of a better way to celebrate the July 4th holiday than with these sorbets.

The Thai Iced Tea is a brilliant frozen version of the popular drink, which is appealing for those who can't swing by their fave Thai restaurant on a regular basis. Wonderful for lactose-intolerant folks, coconut puree is used as the base for both flavors. You can't detect it at all in the Thai Iced Tea but I can taste a bit of it in the French Press Coffee. Some folks might not dig it but I love it. It adds a nice tropical nuance to the overall flavor.

The Simply Coconut is purely refreshing and the decadent 60% Dark Chocolate is made with organic honey and Valrhona chocolate. No wonder I can't stop eating it - it's like frozen chocolate mousse. I'm so thankful that it's only 90 calories a serving, or I'd be in trouble.

I wish I still had some in my freezer, especially in this heat. But alas, we demolished our samples pronto, as they were so good. ;)

It's a huge miracle but I still have some left! I'm practicing good portion control. :)
