Givenchy Naivement Couture S/S 2011 Makeup

Wow, Givenchy is really going for the bright and bold palette for their Naivement Couture Spring/Summer 2011 makeup collection. Think shades of tangerine, candy pink, brown, and lime green. It's as if the sun's warm rays were splashed right across your face. This collection is not for the meek.

First off, I absolutely love the limited edition Blush Gelée (Jelly Blush). The fresh gel formula leaves a soothing, cooling sensation after you apply it and the rosy Candide Pink adds a warm, delicate flush to the cheeks. This shade is very buildable and the soft foam applicator is genius. You don't have to mix it with your fingers -- just swipe the foam applicator across the cheeks.  Still, you gotta be careful not to apply too many layers or you'll end up looking like a poupee doll. I was pleasantly surprised to see the color staying put for a long time.

The Le Prisme Quatuor eyeshadow quad in Candide Garden is a vibrant mix of oranges, brown, and springtime green. These colors might be tricky to pull off for everyday use but they can create a really sassy look for a special event. I'd apply the green or orange all over the lid and it's enough drama by itself. The Magic Kohl eyeliner pencil in 15 Coffee is wonderful for emphasizing a bold eye. Its staying power is quite strong --  no fading or smearing here.

If you love orange lips the Rouge Interdit lipstick in Candide Tangerine is right up your alley. It's warm enough to look good on most skin tones and the texture is super creamy. I found it to be a tad bit too bright on my own lips but it's definitely a sexy bold lip. Just looking at it makes me wanna go salsa dancing.

Not for the meek, indeed. I shudder to think what the hubster would think if I made up my face like that. He'd probably think he stepped into a horror film. LOL

Hah, it'd be like a variation of Black Swan....except this will be Orange Swan! LOL.
