Jonboy Caramels

On our first visit to Ballard Farmers Market, we scooped up a couple boxes of Jonboy Caramels. With caramels, I can usually control myself with a small bite or two, but their insane recipe had me gobbling up the entire piece...and another...and another.

Their Fleur de Sel is just fantastic. Made with local and organic ingredients, it has all the salted buttery goodness in a typical fleur de sel caramel, but there's a warm nuttiness that gives it a nice depth. In other words, it's like crack. I also enjoyed the Balsamic Berry caramels. Blackberries, raspberries, balsamic vinegar, a smidgen of black pepper, and Hawaiian sea salt elevate these caramels into a gourmet experience.

For licorice lovers, they also have an Absinthe with Black Salt flavor. I also love the fact that these don't stick to your teeth too much - a major plus for me.

Available at jonboycaramels.com.
