NARS Spring 2011 Makeup Collection
January 24, 2011 The weather is getting slightly warmer and I've been looking forward to wearing some gorgeous spring makeup. The NARS Spring 2011 Collection got me all excited -- it brings forth a palette of fresh, bright color that's tempered with jeweled earth tones. The look is modern, sleek and flawless. The eyes are infused with flirty metallic finishes and sparkling lips add a sensual tone to the overall look.
I'm so in love with the first trio eyeshadow palette (Okinawa) so I was really excited to see the new Calanque Trio Eyeshadow. Already sold out temporarily on the NARS website, it's a blend of gold-infused platinum with silver flecks, light matte caramel and golden antique bronze.
I just love the Nouveau Monde Duo Eyeshadow. The metallic silver lilac and rich olive gold can be worn as a romantic veil of color, or you can layer more on for a soft smoky look. You can use the lilac as a base and use the olive gold as an eyeliner, or vice versa. It's absolutely wonderful for daytime looks, but you can definitely step it up with a darker eyeliner or lots of mascara for nighttime.
The Hollywoodland Soft Touch Shadow Pencil is really versatile. The pale gold color can be used as an eyeshadow, highlighter or eyeliner. This shade is goes well as a layering shade. It's not too shimmery so it doesn't make your eye too blingy.
For a fun lip color the Angelika Lip Gloss is a bright cotton candy pink that's infused with gold and silver sparkle. It was a part of the Limited Edition Lip Gloss set that launched last summer, but now you can buy it on its own! The same goes for the fabulous Super Orgasm Lip Gloss, a peachy pink with gold glitter.

For the ladies who love neutral colors, the creamy Tzigane Lipstick is made for you. The sheer pink brandy is ideal for a natural daytime lip color but you can also pair it with a bold eye for a sexy evening look.

The shadow colors are beautiful. I love those earth-tone shades that have just a little something extra to make them more interesting. ;)
