Spring 2012 Trends with the Glam Beauty Board

I'm honored to be a member of the Glam Beauty Board, a panel of bloggers who will periodically review the most popular beauty products of the season. I can't wait to share what we reviewed for spring, so without further ado, here are my thoughts.

I normally don't go for floral scents but Chloé's latest fragrance L'Eau de Chloé is very light, fresh and citrusy. Made with 22% rose water, the carefree scent is wonderful for spring. I can definitely detect the grapefruit note, while warm cedarwood, patchouli, and amber ground the composition. J'adore!

I'm in love with the new Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment. The rich lip balm promises to smooth fine lines, repair lips, and enhance volume. Cupuaçu butter, plum seed oil, and passionflower seed oil seal in a luxurious amount of hydration while Hyaluronic Filling Spheres help plump the lips.

If you travel a lot, you'll love the PixiGlow Fairy Face Palette (Pixi Belle). It contains everything you'll need for a polished, made up look. The deluxe palette contains 5 neutral eyeshadows, 5 sheer lip creams, and three shimmery shades of pink blush. To sweeten the deal, you also get a big mirror, 2 lip and eye brushes and a blush brush. To add more drama to the eye, get their matching PixiGlow Straight on till Morning Liner, a pretty forest green with gold sparkles. The waterproof eyeliner pencil goes on like a gel liner and stays put for the most part.

I was curious about the JK Jemma Kidd I-Sculpt Shadow and Liner in 03 Kings Road (dark plum). The dual-purpose pen is pretty cool - the shadow is dispensed within the foam tip applicator for a no-fuss look. The liner end is slanted to make it easier to glide on and the results are pretty good. If you're looking for a thin, fine eyeliner, this is not for you. This is definitely more of a dramatic look.

Alas, my least favorite product was the NP Set Glamorista Mascara. Perhaps I got an unlucky sample, but the formula was very dry. It was difficult to apply the mascara to my lashes and it clumped a lot.

To hydrate the under eye area, the Aveeno Positively Radiant Eye Illuminator is a good option. Containing their Active Naturals Total Soy Complex, it soaks in immediately. The appealing scent isn't too overpowering, which is another plus in my book.

There are hectic days when I don't have time to wash my hair, and Oscar Blandi's Pronto Invisible Volumizing Dry Shampoo Spray comes to my rescue. It sprays on clear and the non-sticky texture is a joy to work with. I love the volumizing action as well - my hair looks and smells amazing. For those days where I do have time to primp my hair, I depend on the Pronto Dry Styling Heat Protect Spray to finish my hairstyling. It's not sticky at all and the scent is lovely.

Got some pesky zits? Grab a box of the Neova Breakout Control acne treatment swabs. Formulated with maximum strength 2% salicylic acid and calming botanicals, these easy-to-use swabs will clear and calm your pimples in no time. They also don't dry out my skin, which I really appreciate in any acne control product.

To clean off all the makeup, the gentle Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes are pretty darn amazing. Easy and quick, they wipe off everything, even waterproof makeup. They're way less messy than bottled cleansers and are also convenient for travel.

For editorial consideration, review samples were provided by Glam Media for this post.

Forest green liner with gold sparkles? Wow, that sounds like all you need to glam up day or night.

It's actually really nice. I like that entire makeup line. Affordable too.
