YSL Holiday Look 2010 Makeup
November 1, 2010 Shimmering pinks, coppery glints, soft plums, and frosty silver dominate the understated Yves Saint Laurent Holiday Look 2010 makeup collection. Instead of glitzy bold colors these elegant shades highlight the natural radiance of gold.
Inspired by the new Belle de Jour Metallic Colorama accessories line, the limited edition Palette Metallic Colorama Face Highlighter - Pearly Finish is a pearlescent champagne pink face and décolleté powder that's tucked into a burnished gold leatherette compact. Both the exterior and interior parts of the compact are embossed with the Cassandra logo. Such a luxurious piece to have!
The shimmer is on the subtle side and the smooth texure lends a cashmere feel to the skin. Use it all over for a delicate golden highlight, or just add it to the cheekbones and eyebrow arch to sculpt the face. You can also apply it on the eyelids for a touch of light.
The eyes are clad in silver gray and golden plum with the Ombres Duolumières Eye Shadow Duo in No. 33. This duo offers a soft smoky plum-brown lid, tempered with a shimmering platinum silver.
For a dramatic finish the Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils has a new No. 9 Plum shade. This deep plum is suitable for light-colored eyelashes, as I could barely detect the color when I used two coats on my black lashes. That said, this is a great mascara for curling, lengthening and volumizing effects. It didn't clump nor smudge after a few hours of application.
The lips are gently enhanced with the pretty Rouge Pure Shine SPF 15 sheer lipsticks. The No. 35 Metallic Pink (seen in the third image above) offers a slightly nude lip and the No. 34 Metallic Gold is a wearable frosty gold.
If you want more shine and shimmer the Golden Gloss in No. 38 Golden Champagne (pinky beige) will draw more attention to the lips. Three additional shades (Golden Carat, Golden Red, and Golden Chocolate) are also available if you want darker color.
Let's not forget about the nail colors! Three gorgeous shades of La Laque Long-Lasting Nail Lacquer are offered this season. These classic metallic shades (Gold, Pink Gold, White Gold) will show off your dainty little fingertips and toesies.
