NARS Tan Lines & Topless Dual-Intensity Eyeshadows

New for summer, NARS has two limited-edition Dual-Intensity Eyeshadows ($29) that's perfect for those who want a light and neutral look. The Topless shade is a pale seashell pink, blending perfectly with Tan Lines, a rich hazelnut. I like wearing them together but they're also pretty when worn alone. I love using a wet brush as it's far more intense, resulting in a gorgeous smoky eye.

Based on the French Riviera lifestyle, the fun packaging features original fashion illustrations by contemporary artist Konstantin Kakanias.

Available at www.narscosmetics.com.

THINX Period Underwear

If you've been wondering about all those period panties on the market, THINX panties might be the most absorbent underwear I've tried so far. Other brands work to a certain extent but they're not perfect. THINX, however, can retain a lot more liquid without staining and leaking. I'm pretty surprised at how well it works for me. Four layers of moisture-wicking fabric are lined with anti-microbial silver so you will feel dry and comfortable. For some ladies, this might even eliminate the need for tampons or pantyliners!

You get to choose from six panty styles, depending on the intensity of your flow. The thong ($24) is obviously for lighter days while the popular hiphugger ($34) is made for heavy days. I love the soft lace waistband as it's way flattering and very soft. As for laundering, just soak or rinse, then wash on delicate cycle like your other lingerie.

For each pair of THINX panties sold, a portion of proceeds are donated to AFRIpads, an organization in Uganda that teaches women to make and sell reusable cloth pads. Read more about it here

Available at www.shethinx.com.

The 59th SF International Film Festival

I always look forward to the San Francisco International Film Festival (April 21-May 5) and this year's lineup doesn't disappoint. The Opening Night Film, Love & Friendship, stars Kate Beckinsale and Chloe Sevigny in a period comedy based on the Jane Austen novella Lady Susan

Here are a couple festival picks:

Journey to the Shore - A missing husband's ghost returns home to take his wife along a journey in Kiyoshi Kurosawa's supernatural drama. As Mizuki meets her husband's former colleagues and friends, each character deals with their own story of grief, loss and loneliness. A gorgeous and melancholy trek across Japan's peaceful landscapes, this meditative and wistful film deftly weaves magical elements with seemingly quotidian life in modern Japan.

Microbe and Gasoline - Michel Gondry fans will enjoy the whimsical teen road trip. The two young protagonists, Daniel and Theo, escape the stifling constraints of family and bullying peers by embarking on an ambitious trip across the backroads of France. The charming tale is a different spin on the classic coming-of-age story, delivering gentle lessons on life and a few adventures along the way.

HydroPeptide LASH

I wasn't blessed with long eyelashes and have tried everything from lash extensions to false lashes. Tired of relying on superficial methods, I gave the HydroPeptide LASH, a natural lash and brow enhancer, a try.

Formulated with three types of peptides, biotin, hyaluronic acid and folic acid, this non-irritating product helps promote thicker, longer eyelashes. More importantly, it's also drug-free so you won't have to worry about side effects.

I've tried this for over three weeks and I'm quite pleased with the results. You won't get a va-va-voom false lash effect, but you will definitely see noticeably longer, thicker, and healthier-looking lashes. Used nightly, the tube should last several months.

Available for $96 (.17 fl oz) at hydropeptide.com.

Clarins UV PLUS Anti-Pollution Sunscreen Tints

Now that the days are getting longer, it's a good time to stock up on sunscreen. Clarins has updated their popular tinted sunscreens with the new UV PLUS Anti-Polluntion Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Sunscreen Multi-Protection Tint

Available in three shades (light, medium, deep), it provides sheer coverage. I love the light shade as it makes my skin look more even and matte. The lightweight texture is great for humid weather and oily skin, making it ideal under makeup. The formula also contains organic sanicle, cantaloupe, lampsana, white tea, and organic blackcurrant bud extracts to fend off environmental pollution.

Available for $44 (1.7 fl oz) at www.clarinsusa.com

LURK Perfumes

Handmade in small batches, LURK perfume oils are blended with 100% pure essential oils, resins, extracts, and absolutes. Each fragrance is infused in a base of organic alcohol and certified organic jojoba oil, making these natural scents an obvious choice if you're thinking about trying natural perfumes.

I got to try AS 01, a blend of cedar, tuberose and rose. The woodsy cedar definitely tames the floral aspects but it retains its dreamy and lush characteristics. I love the tiny 1/8 oz bottle as I can tuck it into any purse for touch-ups.

Available for $55 at www.lurkmade.com.

True Nature Botanicals Pacific Eye Serum

True Botanicals just launched their new Deep Repair Eye Serum (formerly Pacific Eye Serum) their first-ever skincare product for the eyes. It's absolutely the best nourishment for the delicate skin and I'm way impressed with all the ingredients that are in the potent formula.

This nutrient-dense serum brightens, tightens, and reduces puffiness. Key anti-inflammatory ingredients (83% organic/wild-crafted) include healing seed oils of camellia, evening primrose, blackberry, carrot and cucumber. Tuberose stem cells help revive tired eyes, reduce dark circles and repair fine lines.

Don't let the small bottle fool you—you only need one tiny droplet to completely cover the entire eye area. It should last for most of the year, and after using it for three weeks, my crazy dark circles have faded a bit and the fine lines are vastly reduced. Truly, it's an incredible product for your peepers.

Available for $90 (0.5 oz/15ml) at tnbotanicals.com.

100% PURE Facial Masks

With the massive popularity of Asian skincare, we're flooded with tons of options in the facial sheet mask category. That's why I wasn't surprised to see American beauty brands embracing this fun trend.

100% PURE, known for their well-priced natural skincare, recently launched two new facial masks. The Ginseng Collagen Boost Mask ($7; $29 for 5-pack) features a hydrogel material that contains 95% organic aloe water. It's also packed with Korean red ginseng, peony, licorice, Manuka honey and royal jelly to stimulate collagen production. The Green Tea Water Bomb Mask contains organic green tea, chrysanthemum, calendula, rose, cucumber, oolong and chamomile to soothe inflamed skin and dramatically boost hydration.

Put it on for 20 minutes and your face will feel soooo soft. Fine lines are plumped out, and I didn't even use a night cream. I've tried other masks before and they have never shown results that lasted as long as this one. It's so good that I could still see and feel the effects the next morning. There's plenty of leftover serum in the package to last for a few applications. If the brand can make the serum in a bottled version I would totally buy it!

Available at www.100percentpure.com and all 100% Pure retail stores.
