Glam Beauty Board - Summer 2012 Trends

I joined the awesome Glam Beauty Board a few months ago and now it's time for the summer edition! The lovely editors at Glam Media sent another box of fun goodies to review and I can't wait to share what we're coveting for the season.

Clinique Chubby Stick - A moisturizing lip balm with sheer color coverage, these fun Chubby Sticks lasted a few hours on my lips. Hands down, Two Ton Tomato is my favorite tint. I also like the twist-up applicator so you don't have to sharpen it. The other two shades, Mighty Mimosa and Bountiful Blush, barely showed up on my pigmented lips. They're perfect if you want a nude lip but I think I might have better luck with a bright berry shade like Super Strawberry or Whoppin' Watermelon.

Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow - I adore the Candlelight 36 shade. I always love how natural Bobbi Brown's eyeshadows look and this one is a winner. Long-lasting and non-creasing, it lasted several hours without a primer and the pale gold shimmer is very subtle. For a sexy accent you can paint a thin line along the lash line after using black liquid eyeliner.

Stila Custom Color Blush in Self-Adjusting Coral - Touted as a one-shade-fits-all powder blush that adjusts to skin tone and individual pH, it surprised me with its ability to look so natural. When I first swatched it I was worried it would be way too bright and chalky, but after blending it out it became a very pretty coral pink. The matte finish is silky, giving the cheeks a healthy, slightly shimmery glow. The high pigmentation guarantees a great color payoff and it lasted for most of the day. I also don't usually go for coral blushes but this one is fabulous.

Philosophy Clear Days Ahead Acne Treatment Cleanser - Hot weather can cause additional acne breakouts and this cleanser can help control those zits from cropping up. The oil-free formula contains 1% salicylic acid to reduce and prevent new occurrences. It wasn't too drying on my skin but I prefer something a bit more moisturizing. That said, this would be perfect for oily and acne skin.

Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins Mega-Bright Skin Tone Correcting Serum - This serum contains white peony, rosa roxburghii and licorice to brighten the complexion and reduce dark spots. I do like the citrus scent and gel-like consistency, which gave a light layer of moisture for humid days. Other than the fact that it's a good moisturizing serum, I only used this for several days so I haven't seen any noticeable changes.

Kerastase Masquintense Hair Mask - If you have damaged or overly processed hair, you need this hair treatment. You don't need a lot - a quarter-sized dollop will be plenty. It didn't weigh my hair down and it felt sooo silky after leaving it on for 5 minutes. A cult favorite amongst stylists, it will last a very long time.

Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray - For quick tousled waves, spray this on dried hair before you head out. It leaves a soft touch so it's not sticky nor crunchy at all. It gave my hair a nice body and soft curls after a light spritz. I'm not crazy about the coconut scent but it dissipated after several minutes.

L'Oreal Paris Sublime Sun Advanced Suncreen SPF 50+ - This SPF spray is so convenient and easy to use. It gives a light mist of water-resistant sunscreen while vitamin E and white grapeseed nourish the skin. It's not oily and absorbs fairly quickly, which is super helpful when you're covered in sand at the beach.

OPI Nail Lacquer - I got to try the pretty Thanks A Windmillion shade, which is part of the Holland Collection. A beautiful mint green with hints of gray, it is a fun summer color for pedicures. Two coats is definitely needed for an opaque finish and it dried pretty quickly.

Dove Clinical Protection Cleartone Deodorant - For ladies who have dark marks after shaving, this deodorant might help you reduce them. Calendula and sunflower seed extracts work to accelerate the skin renewal process, resulting in pretty-looking underarm areas. I don't perspire heavily but the prescription-strength formula gave me plenty of protection.

Sonia Kashuk Duffle Bag - I love the size of this durable travel bag. The space inside is perfect for throwing in a couple outfits for a short weekend getaway. Two clear makeup cases are attached inside with a velcro strip, making it super easy to get organized.

It always mystifies me how those self-adjusting blushes work. It must be magic! ;)
