The Perfect Purée of Napa Valley for Holiday Recipes

As you're planning your holiday parties don't forget to organize your ingredient lists to make things easier. Having the right product is so key to producing the perfect results. Whatever you're cooking, the gourmet purées and fruit concentrates from The Perfect Purée of Napa Valley give that extra oomph for all types of dishes. They are also ideal for mixing cocktail drinks.

I've successfully used their lychee and mango purées in a tropical panna cotta recipe. The blackberry purée is fantastic for making a fruit coulis or pie filling. The new Red Mixed Berry can be used for meat sauces and vinaigrettes.

I've included an easy dessert recipe below that incorporates their Culinary Traditions™ Lemon Zest. Containing 50% sugar, the zest is also great with semifreddo, tarts and lemon bars.

Lemon-Cherry Ice Cream

Servings: 6
Serving size: 1 cup
Preparation time: 40 minutes

    •     24 oz. light cream
    •     24 oz. heavy cream
    •     1 1/2 cups sugar
    •     1 tbsp. plus 1 tsp. Culinary Traditions™ Cherry,  thawed
    •     1 1/2 tsp. Culinary Traditions™ Lemon Zest,  thawed

Method:
1.     Mix light cream, heavy cream and sugar in a medium saucepan. Bring ingredients to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
2.     Remove pan from heat, stir in Cherry puree and Lemon Zest. Allow to cool to room temperature.
3.     Pour into ice cream maker and freeze according to manufacturer's directions.

Serving Suggestion:
Serve this ice cream elegantly topped with candied pecans or walnuts, a hot apple topping, or a caramel sauce.

Oooh, lemon-cherry ice cream sounds so good, even in the chilly winter. These purees are so versatile. Great to have on hand.

I love these purees! They're so handy and they last for a long time if you freeze them.
